Privacy
What we collect: almost nothing.
Kalios has no accounts, no sign-ups and no comment box. We don’t ask who you are, and we can’t tell.
Visits.
We count visits with Umami, a cookieless analytics service. It records the page, the time, the country, the page or site that sent you, your browser type, device type, operating system, screen size and language — never your name, your address or anything that identifies you, and it sets no cookies. Visit counts can’t be tied to a person. We use them to see which pages help and which don’t.
The calculator and the stack receipt.
Everything you type stays in your browser and in the link it makes. Nothing is sent to us.
COA Check.
When you check a lab report, your browser shrinks the pages to small images and sends them, with a bot-check token, to our one server function. That function asks Cloudflare’s Turnstile to confirm you’re not a bot, then sends the images to our model provider, Anthropic, which reads them into a short record — the lab’s name, the report number, the compound, the numbers printed — and returns it. The record is built to leave out any client’s or customer’s name; it notes only whether one is printed. We don’t log or store the images, the text or the record. Anthropic processes them to produce the record and keeps them only for the limited period its API terms set; it doesn’t use them to train its models. To limit abuse, the function keeps a count of checks per connection for an hour, in memory only. Cloudflare’s and Anthropic’s own privacy policies cover their part. Cover or crop any names or order numbers before you upload.
The newsletter.
It runs on Substack. If you subscribe, Substack holds your address under its own privacy policy; we see the address there and nowhere else, and we send nothing but the newsletter. The list stays on Substack and is never exported, shared or merged with anything else.
Email.
If you write to us, we keep your message to answer it and don’t share it.
Hosting.
The site is served by Vercel, which keeps short-lived server logs for its own operation under its privacy policy.
Nothing is sold or rented.
We share data only with the services named on this page, and only so the site can work. We take no money from vendors, run no ads and use no affiliate links.
Under 18.
Kalios isn’t meant for anyone under 18, and we don’t knowingly collect anything from them.
Your rights.
Ask us at kaliospeptides@proton.me and we’ll tell you what, if anything, we hold about you and remove it. Visit counts can’t be tied to a person, so there’s nothing there for us to find or delete.
Changes.
This page carries a Checked date like every other page, and every change to it is logged on the corrections page.
